This week brought another wave of desktop-agent features. The useful pattern is becoming clear: people want the model to work inside the same tools they already use, with visible checkpoints.

That makes verification and permission design more important than raw generation speed. The agent has to show what changed and make it easy to recover.

Editor’s noteA useful tool review should make the task, time, and limitations explicit.

What this test actually tells us

First-draft speed only tells you whether a tool can start. The second revision, mobile behavior, empty states, and long-term maintenance decide whether it belongs in a real workflow.
